Kinfolk is a publication by a growing community of artists with a shared interest in small gatherings. They recognize that there is something about a table shared by friends, not just a wedding or once-a-year holiday extravaganza, that anchors our relationships and energizes us. Kinfolk is a collaborative way of advocating the natural approach to entertaining. Every element of Kinfolk from the features, photography, and general aesthetics are consistent with the way we feel entertaining should be: simple, uncomplicated, and less contrived. Kinfolk is the marriage of our appreciation for art and design and our love for spending time with family and friends. Volume 11 and 12 sold separately.
Volume 11 is the home issue, with exclusive interviews, photographs and articles exploring the home.
Volume 12 is the saltwater issue which will explore the world’s oldest and most used seasoning while also looking at it—and us—in its natural habitat: the sea. This issue will focus not only on the salty theme but also on encouraging people to get outside and be spontaneous in the warm weather. Sunlit, euphoric photo essays will be accompanied by salty commentary and social history: Think of it as a summer issue with a seasoning of culture.
