Vintage Heath Ashtray

$39.00 $59.00

Heath Ceramics was founded in 1948 in Sausalito, California by Edith Heath who was a talented ceramicist with a simple goal of making good things for good people.  Over the years she pioneered advances in glaze development and a technique of single kiln firing at lower temperatures to save energy and create a durable product that stands the test of time.  Heath Ceramics are part of the permanent collection at the MOMA in San Francisco, displaying mid century iconic design with a Scandinavian influence.

After many factory fires caused by cigarettes in the 1960’s, Edith Heath herself designed ashtrays with deep V’s so that cigarettes would naturally extinguish.  The ashtrays were discontinued in the 1980’s but our vintage collection of ash trays make perfect incense holders, jewelry dishes or pocket change catchalls.  In great handmade vintage condition.  Sold Individually.
